Dear Fellow Members and Friends,
SAMLAW Legal Practitioners’ Assistance Scheme - Happy Hour Gathering on 7th August 2015 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Lawyers are trained to be solvers of other people’s problems. But what happens when a lawyer has a problem of his or her own to deal with? Usually he/she is less effective in dealing with his/her own problem than he/she is in helping others. From time to time, many lawyers reach a point where they are unable to cope with some aspect of their professional or personal lives. Sadly, they do not know how to find listening ears for guidance and advice. As an unfortunate result, they do not do themselves justice.
In 1970, a number of solicitors in England took bold steps ahead of time and set up the Solicitors’ Assistance Scheme offering guidance and advice to their colleagues in difficulty. The scheme has stood the test of time. It is working well and generally meets the needs of its members.
SAMLAW has set up the Legal Practitioners’ Assistance Scheme similar to the Solicitors’ Assistance Scheme in England to provide assistance to those who find coping not easy. It is a platform where our solicitors and barristers, seniors or juniors can chat and share their experience and offer mutual support and assistance in our legal profession.
Here, we are providing such platform for you and the fellow lawyers.
SAMLAW is organizing a happy hour gathering on 7th August 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We are inviting Solicitors and Barristers, Seniors and Juniors to join the event. During the happy hour gathering, China Appointed Attesting Officers will share their experience in sitting for the CAAO examination, Young Barristers can learn from Solicitors the tips to work closely with the Instructing Solicitors and Junior Solicitors can ask Senior Solicitors the way to pave for success.
