協會簡介

香港中小型律師行協會(“本會”)是由一群在中小型律師行執業的律師自發組織成立,目的是為中小型律師行律師及大律師營造有利的執業環境,以互助形式,集中資源,增強競爭力,為市民提供多元化的法律服務。

 

隨著國家逐步開放國內法律服務範疇,本會積極為律師會員提供國內發展平台,協助及促進中小型律師行與國內律師行的聯營發展,研究及探討香港事務律師及大律師在國內處理涉及港人之民事訴訟法律服務的機遇。

 

本會會員類別有選舉會員、普通會員及附屬會員,包括事務律師、大律師、公司律師、國內律師、見習事務律師、見習大律師、法律學位畢業生及法律學生。本會會員可以會員價或免費參加CPD講座及國內交流,並於本會網頁免費刊登專業通告。

 

本會於2012年被獲邀為廣東省粵港澳合作促進會第二屆單位會員。本會的創會會長陳曼琪律師亦被委任為廣東省粵港澳合作促進會第二屆常務理事。

Introduction

The Small and Medium Law Firms Association of Hong Kong (SAMLAW) is formed by a group of enthusiastic solicitors to promote and enhance the common interests and the competitiveness of Hong Kong small and medium sized law firms in the legal service market in Hong Kong and the Mainland. Individual is weak but individuals are strong.

 

SAMLAW has a very strong connection in the Mainland and is expecting to help its members to explore legal business opportunities in the Mainland. SAMLAW also provides members with benefits and services such as free CPD/RME courses, free professional advertisements, tutorial services equipping members to explore the legal service market in the Mainland, legal assistance from the associated law associations and law firms in the Mainland and mutual support under the Legal Practitioners’ Assistance Scheme. It is the goal of SAMLAW to provide mutual support and assistance to its members and small and medium sized law firms in Hong Kong. SAMLAW is a platform for members to have their professional practice hand in hand towards the road of success.

 

SAMLAW is the first association established to help small and medium law firms in Hong Kong. Do join SAMLAW and work together for the mutual benefit and common interest of small and medium sized law firms in Hong Kong.

Constitution of

The Small and Medium Law Firms Association of Hong Kong

香港中小型律師行協會

 

 

1. Name

1.1 The name of the Association is “The Small and Medium Law Firms Association of Hong Kong 香港中小型律師行協會” (hereafter called “the Association”).

2. Registered office

2.1 The Registered office of the Association will be situated in Hong Kong.

3. Objects

3. 1The Association is a professional association for small and medium-sized law firms and legal practitioners in Hong Kong. The objects for which the Association is established are to:

3.2 promote the common interests of Hong Kong small and medium-sized law firms in the legal profession;

3.3 enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong small and medium-sized law firms in Hong Kong and the Mainland;

3.4 promote legal services of Hong Kong small and medium-sized law firms to the Mainland and overseas markets;

3.5 establish an assistance scheme offering mutual support and assistance to the legal practitioners in Hong Kong;

3.6 articulate the views of small and medium-sized law firms in Hong Kong;

3.7 campaign on issues important to small and medium-sized law firms in Hong Kong;

3.8 foster exchanges, friendship and collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland legal professionals;

3.9 promote the potential and gain recognition of the contribution of Hong Kong small and medium-sized law firms to the legal, social and economic developments of Hong Kong; and

3.10 do all such other lawful acts as the Association shall consider to be incidental or conducive to the furtherance of the above objects.

4. Members

4.1 Qualification for membership shall be laid down by the Association from time to time;

4.2 The Association may at any time and from time to time create any class or classes of members and unless otherwise determined by the Association, the membership of the Association shall consist of Fellow Members with voting rights and Ordinary Members with no voting rights approved by the Executive Committee of the Association;

4.3 The founding members of the Association shall be the Fellow Members with voting rights;

4.4 The Association may require members of different classes to pay subscription(s) and/or membership fee(s) for such amount(s) and in such manner(s) as the Association shall from time to time think fit;

4.5 Procedures of admitting members of any class shall be determined by written resolution of the First Executive Committee; and

4.6 Membership of the Association shall not be transferrable.

5. The Executive Committee

5.1 The Executive Committee is the governing body of the Association responsible for the external and internal affairs of the Association. The Executive Committee shall further determine the admission and termination of the membership and the respective rights, privileges and obligations of the members with each class and the rules applicable to the various classes of membership;

5.2 The First Executive Committee shall consist of the Founding President, Secretary and Treasurer to be elected by the Fellow Members with voting rights. The First Executive Committee shall decide on the term of service of the Executive Committee and its re-election;

5.3 The second and the subsequent Executive Committees shall consist of the Founding President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected by the Fellow Members with voting rights; and

5.4 The rules and proceedings of the Executive Committee meetings shall be determined by the First Executive Committee.

6. Alteration and Interpretation of the Constitution

 

6.1 The Executive Committee may, on the recommendation of the Founding President, alter, amend and/or interpret the Constitution and make any regulation(s) as it shall deem fit.
